Applications

Below you will find our most frequently asked questions about the application process to study online with King's and key information about the courses.

Applying for a King’s Online programme is quick and our Online Admissions Fact Sheet will take you through the application process step-by-step. After uploading your supporting documents and submitting your application, the King’s Admissions team will review it and submit a response within five working days if you meet the entry criteria. If your application needs to be assessed further, it could take longer. If there is documentation missing, your Enrolment Advisor may ask you to upload further details before your application can be processed, which may cause a delay to your response. In total, your application should take no more than two weeks from your application being submitted to a decision being made.

The minimum time to complete a full master’s is two years. However, if a PG Certificate or PG Diploma is available then you can finish sooner but without a full master’s degree. The maximum time you can take to complete your master’s degree is six years. The great thing about online learning is that it can fit around your life and work commitments. If you need to take a break from your studies you can get in touch with your Student Success Advisor. They will help you understand the amount of time that will be added onto your studies as a result of the interruption, and will work with you to ensure that your return is as seamless and as expedient as possible. We would note though, that while our model is designed to help you get you back onto the programme as quickly as possible, any pause in study will delay your graduation date.

If you have completed a qualification with a related level and syllabus to one of our courses, exemptions are considered on a case by case basis by the programme director and in accordance with the King's policy on recognition of prior learning. Please discuss this with your Enrolment Advisor during the application process.

Visit our Postgraduate Fees and Funding page to find out more about how to fund your studies and what scholarships could be available to you. Online learning offers you the flexibility to pay for one module at a time. The only upfront financial commitment you need to make is for the first module.

The delivery method of your master’s is not added to your degree certificate. You will receive the same certificate as a student who studied full-time on-campus. And just like an on-campus student, you will be invited to a graduation ceremony in London so you can celebrate your achievement.

Studying an online degree with King’s College London means that you are able to access the world-leading teaching of King’s wherever you are. As teaching is 100% online, you benefit by fitting learning around work and other commitments. And of course you will receive the same high quality teaching as our on-campus students. You can expect the online course you are studying to be as challenging and stimulating as an on-campus degree.
