The Department of Liberal Arts cultivates special partnerships with a number of world-leading universities.
Students on the BA Liberal Arts are strongly recommended, for example, to consider studying abroad at one of our partner institutions (available during the second semester of the second year of the degree). Liberal Arts partner universities include:
Widening participation
The King's Liberal Arts Department is actively involved in university-wide efforts in ‘widening participation’ – that is, ensuring that our world-class education is available to students from all kinds of educational background.
As a department, we are beginning to collaborate with the London-based charity IntoUniversity, which trains undergraduate students to help young people to develop their potential and take responsibility for their future goals. The charity has two programmes that we flag to current students, These look great on a CV, give students new training in adaptable skills, and can also form part of the department’s internship module.
Buddy programme
As part of a team of volunteers you will welcome a group of young people (aged 12-13) to your university to help them understand more about higher education. You will lead the students on a planned campus tour before delivering an engaging workshop designed in collaboration with IntoUniversity staff.
Mentoring programme
The IntoUniversity Mentoring Scheme matches a young person (aged 10-17) with a volunteer, giving them the opportunity to receive tailored, one-to-one support for their academic attainment, social skills and future planning.
