Outreach

In NMES, we have exciting outreach work with a wide range of target audiences, from teacher conferences to summer schools.

Our programmes can:

  • Support young people to explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subjects beyond what they see at school
  • Support STEM teachers to engage with their subject in new ways
  • Help young people dig more deeply into a subject before applying to university
  • Encourage university applications to STEM programmes by students from traditionally under-represented backgrounds, working with students and their supporters
  • Engage the wider community with our exciting STEM research
  • The faculty and departments participate in a wide range of outreach activities and run a variety of outreach events, both at a local and international level

Programmes & events

We run a wide range of activities such as summer schools, teacher conferences, open access labs for schools, and a maths club, as well as public lectures including the annual Daniell Lecture and Higgs Lecture.
